MASTER BUILDER

Psalm 84

“How lovely is Your tabernacle, O LORD of Hosts! My soul longs, yes even faints for the courts of the LORD.”

Psalm 127

“But unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it.”

As pastor of HBF, I have been blessed to watch the Master Builder build His house. Some would immediately think why, Yes, isn't the new stucco, carpet, paint, and stained glass really nice? YES IT IS! In time it will rust and rot and need to be demolished. If our focus and interest is only in 2” x 4” and paint then our labor is in vain.

God is building a living house, a living sanctuary, not made with hands where He dwells in the hearts of people. The church is people, “Built up for every good work by the washing of the Word.”

Changed lives are more important than changed light bulbs; renewed minds are more important than a renewed lease; clean hearts more than carpets; being washed in the blood is vastly more important than washed windows.

The Apostle Paul in the book of Romans warns of those who forget or deny what His building project really is. Us!

“Because although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools.”

Psalm 33

“He makes the plan of the peoples of no effect”.

Let us determine to make His plans our plans, and always, always consult with the Master Builder.
